West Midlands Education & Skills are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including references from current and past employers, List 99 and enhanced checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
West Midlands Education & Skills uses its own application form and all applicants for employment will be required to complete an application form containing questions about their academic, full employment history and their suitability for the role. In addition, all applicants are required to account for any gaps or discrepancies in employment history. Incomplete application forms will not be shortlisted.
CVs will not be accepted in place of the application form, but both may be submitted by the applicant if wished. It is unlawful for the School to employ anyone who is barred from working with children. It is a criminal offence for any person who is barred from working with children to apply for a position at the School. Please also be aware that providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and referral to the Police and/or the DBS.
If you are invited to interview, this will be conducted in person by at least two interviewers and the areas which will be explored will include suitability to work with children.
